Game On Kickoff - First Basketball Event with Saint Barnabas Society and Home

Updated: Aug 21, 2022

It has been raining for several days. To our great surprise, it was perfectly sunny today for our basketball training.

Gameon members arrived at the basketball court early in the morning to have early preparation of the event.

More than 10 participants, parents and volunteers from St. Barnabas also arrived at the venue one after another. Everyone was very excited, ready to show off their skills and do their best.

First, GameOn coaches briefly introduced the volunteer works and basketball activity process. Then everyone lined up neatly to do warm-up exercises with the coaches. Afterwards, they were divided into small groups to learn the basic skills taught by volunteer coaches.

In the blink of an eye, the energetic participants quickly mastered the skills, and they got started quickly. Although the movements in the initial training were relatively boring, the participants in the scorching sun were not discouraged by this, and they were very engaged throughout the whole process. This spirit is really encouraging.

GameOn coaches worked together to correct the posture of the participants in a disciplined manner, not like a novice coach at all. In addition, the coaches were very considerate, constantly reminded  the participants to drink sufficient water  to avoid heat stroke.

The most wonderful and exhilarating part is drilling around flying saucer competition. The children competed for each other and played ecstatically.

The winning group was screaming loudly to express their joyfulness. After today's training, the quick learning athletes were good at playing basketballs which is really impressive!

The happy time is always short, and soon the training comes to an end. The little coaches lead everyone to do soothing exercises to avoid strain and cramps.

How can such an exciting day be without a group photo of you? Although everyone played to the point of blushing and sweating, they all smiled and drew a perfect ending to today's meaningful activities.
